NOT SAVÍNG A PROJECT FOR THREE HOURS was created by ar1606
I worked on a project for three hours. than I cancelled FCPX as usual and as I opened it again, a few hoers later, my project was in a very early work level - it was there, but perhaps 2 hours of my work is missing.
In the project folder - BackUps - there IS one backup, but a very early one.. Is there another folder I can look at? I go through the finder to the project-folder - is this the right way?
It´s the first time I have such a problem - I work with FCPX since one year..
Now I have 10.0.5. - if its important for an anser..
Did anyone had this problem before? Is there a reason for it? Can I find my project in another way?

What OS version are you on?
What hardware specs?
There's only the one database back-up in that Backup folder.
There is a product called Pro Versioner that could help. It's a bit pricey for doing something so simple, but if you need it, there it is. You can also do manual duplications on occasion.

I´m on OS X 10.7.4
2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
16 GB 1066 MHz DDR3
thanx for the link - perhaps it´s a good shorttime backup..
what do you mean with the "manual duplications on occasion"? Duplicate the project - it would always take time and a lot of space, wouldn´t it?
Can you imagine a reason for this one time mistake?

Happened to me just yesterday (although not 3 hours of loss; maybe 30 minutes).
It's extremely frustrating, and having to use 3rd party software or duplicating projects every few minutes are not viable long term solutions. Apple needs to implement a manual save option in a future update. What good is editing software if your work unpredictably gets erased?

Duplicating a project is usually quick and does not take up all that much disk space providing you select "duplicate project only" and uncheck the box that says to include render files. You can duplicate often. You can go back and delete old duplicates later once you are sure you don't need them any more. The duplicated projects will (by default) have the same name appended with (fcpn) where n is an increasing digit.
