this probably has already been answered but i couldn't find it, so i'm asking for your help...

how do you move your connected clip from a storyline to another without changing it's current position?

thanks in advance :)

In the Timeline, click P to change your selection tool to the Position one. This enables you to move anything anywhere & not have it magnetically snap somewhere you don't want it. Then drag it straight up or down. If dragging by eye isn't accurate enough for you, you can hold down the Shift key which will give you vertical movement only.

Um, a Connected Clip can only be attached to the Primary Storyline, not Secondary Storylines.

correct... i mean to another clip in the storyline.

using the range tool doesn't seam to do the trick. using it can attach the clip to another but only by moving it and that isn't what i want.

or is there simply no way to re-attach a clip to another without moving it?

Do you want to move the attachment point? That is done with cmd-opt-click. The connected clip will attach where you clicked. The new attachment point may be a different clip in the storyline.
