FCPX saving work issues?

Is there a way of confirming a project is saved? Can I go into the FCP folder and manually duplicate the file in there while the programming is open.
There must be a way of safe guarding the work flow!!?? It's only a couple of megs afterall.

Saving is now an automatic operation done about every 5 minutes in Lion. At this point in time it's super reliable for all Lion apps using it, except for DCP X, which has bugs.

Apple has told certain individuals we'd see updates to FCP X in Sept & Oct. It remains to be seen.
