Hi all,

Spent the last month with fcpx and I've used the share to YouTube option. I stopped the process once the movie had been encoded as I didn't want to upload. Found the resulting file in the shared items folder and loaded it into Quicktime only to find that it had been cropped.

QT inspector says:
H.264, 1,920 x 1,080 (1,888 x 1,062)
AAC, 48000 Hz, Stereo (L R)

Anybody else noticed this? It is definitely a crop as I have compared it to an exported H.264 which did not crop.

Andy

yeah, I did a video to embed on a website and it looked great for two days. Then all of the sudden it was cropped on both sides with black bars.....wired. Mine was also in 1080p.

Tried opening up the clip in some different viewers QT7, VLC, MPEGStreamclip and there is no crop.

So QT10 is the problem.

Although I would like to know what's going on with the dimensions in brackets.

You are exporting with clean aperture information. If you look at the export specs in Compressor you'll see that the "Add clean aperture information" checkbox is checked. Some players ignore the info, others don't.
