Copying project+files - can be done via ctrl+c? was created by young_editor
There are two ways of copying projects:
1. in FCP click file->"move project"
2. simply copy the folder wirh project and paste it to destination you want.
i need to copy project which is 380 GB...which way will be faster?

I don't think either way is going to be any faster than the other? But if you want to run the same projects on the same computer at the same time, you need to do it within the application versus outside via Finder.

I'd never use the "move" operation for safety reasons. It first copies the Event and/or Project, then deletes the original right away automatically. If something corrupted during the copy phase, you're screwed.
Always do a Copy, then when you've verified the copy is good, in FCP take the originals ans Move To Trash.

And when do you use the modifier key, whey you move or copy?

Ah, the confusing Events move/copy issue. I've tested and found on "my" Mac Pro it's opposite of what the user manual says.
On the "same drive", drag and drop "copies". I'm doing this now to verify, as it's something I rarely do. If I use the Option key it does a "move".
If they're on separate drives, drag and drop with no Option key "copies" also. With the Option key it does a "move".
I think that whole system is too confusing and ef'ed up. We should drag and drop from one Event to another, and be prompted if we want to copy or move. Better yet, just copy. Make folks manually delete the originals, as a safety measure.
The renaming of moving/copying clips to a time and date is pretty stupid, also.
