Audio Forum?

Would anyone like to see a forum here just for audio issues?

What percentage of a movie consists of sound? 30%-50%? I have forgotten but there are some rules of thumb out there… Sure there should be a sound forum! It is a no brainer

I hope that was sarcastic! 100% of movies have sound, even the silent movie era ones.

What I am trying to say is that sound makes up a huge part of the emotional impact of a film. There are some theories out there about the ratio of sound to images etc.

Personally it took me at least 5 years of editing before I even had the faintest shimmer of what sound was about!?! And what a huge role it plays!

All the eye candy in the world will not help if your sound sucks.

If you have kick ass sound you might just get by with shitty pictures.

i.e. It seems weird that there is so little about sound in here. It seems out of kilter. Particularly as sound plays such a huge role!

As an audio engineer who came to video from that field, audio is very misunderstood, or plain out not understood issue in the video industry. It can be as deep and complex, if not more so, than video issues. Thus, a forum dedicated to it. A section of "Tips And Tutorials" for just audio, also.
