Why are posted images on this site so tiny?

Something I'm not happy with on this site, is posted images are tiny, and we can't see them full screen or at any really clear, usable size. I hope that can be fixed.

Even after you've clicked on them?

Yes, when I click on them, they don't get much bigger. This post is a prime example.

Most of the time they're not large enough to see the necessary details. Here is a screen shot from a 30" Cinema Display, not very large is it?

I think getting the mediabox outside of the dimensions of website won't happen although I'll look into the settings.

The problem with that photo is the extreme landscape aspect ratio

OK, try uploading a 1200 pix wide image and see what you get

I've uploaded my screen shots to other sites without problems, and they show all images much larger than they do on this site. All of the images I've looked at on this site are very small compared to other sites. That's my point. We have to conform to set aspect ratios? So what about the image I'm referring to on a post on this site? Why is it so tiny?

I corrected to 1200px width, and it's still tiny, much more so than other forums. I guess this forum has a limited size it can display images, no matter how large and detailed the original is.

Most people are not looking at images on a 30 inch screen. I think the new 1200 width should show enough. It is a trade off between size & server space.

OK, you look at the small image in this post, and tell me if you can see detail. You can't. It's TINY. My 30" screen has nothing to do with it. This post, the size of the screen capture image is ridiculously small. I can't see enough detail to know what's going on. If that's a limitation, then I guess that's a limitation, and we'll just live with it.
