1) Fire the guy in charge of prompter texts.
2) No pre-written ThankYou speeches allowed, not on paper, and esp. not ‘somewhere’ in the Notes.app of your cellphone
3) Fire the guy in charge of prompter texts. Finally.
4) No parts of your wardrobe should be further away of, …say, a foot.
5) if not already done: Fire the guy in charge of prompter texts.
6) Try something really funky: rehearse the show, esp. walks (of guests and steady-cam)
7) You fired the guy in charge of prompter texts? Good. Fire him again.
8 ) Any reasonable reason to put a chef, or a tennis-player on stage?? (new category suggestions: best catering, best sports movie, sub fictional/live)
9) Hint: in your employment note for the vacant Prompter operator, mention: “Applicant is aware of difference btw. written and spoken text!”

… yep, watching the Oscars live in my time-zone (2-5am) can result in a … more grumpy basic mood, but gosh what a lame show!!!

For academic (pun-pah…) purpose:
Edit-out every prompter-supported scene, edit-out any ‘walk’ (to stage, from stage, of camera…), edit-out any ThePriceIsRight VO (“… she was 5x nominated, this is her 2nd Award in a row…”) - what’s left, hm?

@Olivia Colman: thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for the best 40secs of Oscars2019! :)
== addendum ==
found a legal clip of Mrs Colman's speech (if your geofence allows it)

… just fun to watch it!
