Have been watching the Mont Blanc marathon, and in order to give the viewers a look at the race cameramen are running with the runners. They probably use a light weight camera and a gimbal (?). I have a project going on where I need to run long distances. I will also record this, and I need a light weight camera with very good stabilization. I have tested GoPro here 6 black with gimbal (Karma Grip), and without gimbal on a a selfie stick with stabilization activated. They both does a great job. But is there any other options out there, around same price range as GoPro 6 and Karma Grip?

DJI Osmo does really well, it's a great camera for location handheld shots like that. I've used both and personally like the Osmo camera better. I've also had great results using my iPhone on an Osmo smart phone grip.
I use a GH4 on a Zhinyun Crane v2 and find it really light weight and gives great shots, but personally I feel the smaller GoPro or Osmo solution would be better for an all day event.

Have you taken into consideration drones, like the DJI Mavik Air or Spark?
a) meanwhile under 1k$ (ok, add box, additional batteries, propellers …)
b) offering awesome tech, incredible amount of autonomy, e.g. following a runner, pre-programmed flight maneuvers, obstacle detection etc etc
c) small, easy to handle, rock solid positioning mid-air....
Disadvantages: law regulations/limitations (vary very much on location…) and flight time (max ~20min) per battery.
… saw such a combo just recently 'in the wild', group of cross-country bikers, orbited by such a 'humming bird' … always impressive: landing on the reached-out hand … <sigh> insane 'shut up and grab my money'-factor...

If you're in the US you can not fly over people, period. To get a waiver to allow it takes 3 months minimum, possibly longer. Plus, as Karsten said, there are local and state regulations you need to check on, possibly get waivers for, also.
If you are running and holding a camera, there's going to be some shake, unless you spend the large cash on something like a Ronin. Your Karma is pretty good, I'd use it, be careful, and use Lock&Load for stabilization. You may not get perfect, but you'll get something. Or walk, don't run. Consider getting 1-3 other folks with cameras to help out at various locations along the route to step in and get shots. Leapfrog them along the route as the run progresses.

Yep, I have a drone, but you know. Regulations... I'm going to use the drone far away from people, because I'm going to run far, so the drone will only air when far away from people and stuff the drone might destroy.
Have been looking into DJI Osmo and GoPro 6, and I think I would go for Gopro with Karma Grip, If I have to choose. I need light weight. Since I will be running with just a small running vest, I can carry I big camera. Already have Canon 5d mk4, and I will use it, but it's to heavy for everyday run.
But, I can't decide if Karma Grip is better than built in stabilization on the GoPro 6.
