Editing Tips HELP :)

Hey Everyone
I need a bit of help!!
What helps you all get through a long edit!!! I have been working on this travel film for a long time and have condenced 3 hrs down to 18 minutes but I need to get to around 8.
Just wanting some tips to help me get through all this time at the desk. MOTIVATION, Regular breaks, what else do you guys/girls do when you know you are about to spend a lot of time behind the desk!!

Get someone else to look at it.
Sometimes you get so involved with a project, especially if its a personal one, that you can't see what needs to be done

Look for repeated information, and information that is not absolutely necessary. You're telling a story, cut to the bare bones of that story. Write the story out in only one or two sentences on paper. Then look at your edit, conform it to tell literally that one or two sentences. Works for me all the time.

Leave the desk as much as possible.
In a perfect world, have a walk outside.
