Actually I came across this video several weeks ago, and have ordered the clips. I am already using Duet software with my mini iPad and with a cable attached, it works GREAT! Only thing though is with Duet, it only handles one extra monitor(iPad), not two as shown in this video. I confirmed this with Duet's support. I researched (briefly) air display software, which claims to handle up to 4 connections, but it is done wirelessly, and several reports indicate it does not work very well. (hard to connect and dropping connections, etc).

Since I am on the move a lot, this really does work and it is hard now to go back to using the MacBook screen alone now, with FCPX and motion. Now, the MacBook screen alone, feels so constrictive. Even with a mini iPad, the extra real estate is really VERY helpful.

Just to add to what I said above. The Duet software just upgraded and now also offers a new feature which I am playing with right now, and it is really amazing.

Assuming your MacBook is updated to IOS 10.12.2 and you have the latest version of Duet, you can now see the touch bar on the iPad. I have a MacBook pro 2014, and YES, I am seeing all of the touch bar features on the iPad. I am really amazed. As I change programs, the touch bar on the iPad changes displays, just like I assume the newer MacBook pro with touch bar works.

When I go into FCPX, I get all the touch bar features for FCPX, on the connected iPad.

WOW...so now I am saving my pennies to buy a 12.9 iPad pro so I can have an even larger second display, yet portable enough to move around with.

… I'm more and more under the impression, I was caught by a very smart case viral marketing - the initial video was - for me! - just meant funny, but in combo with the price-offer and the new Touchbar feature ... hmm :dry:

btw, Touchbar-emulation on my iPadmini demands very tiny fingers LOL, but it works!!

Slightly off topic, I think, but can FCPX 10.3 finally utilize all 3 screens?
