How do you charge batteries? was created by Karsten Schlüter
Plead guilty: … that is a very generic question, therefor hard to answer - diff. types of batteries (probably) ask for different treatment. Does it? Perhaps ...
So, in detail:
in use here Sanyo Eneloops/AA … my charger allows to set manually 200, 500, 700 mA ...
Is there any 'best' practice?
low&slow? Or. Only High squeezes the last Volts into it??
Only in loader when completly drenched? Or: as often as possible/keep it in the charger...?
How do you treat your power sources?
Any recommendations?
Many google finds read like a religious war report/lots of opinon, little hard facts.
A User Manual for batteries avail??

Hi Karsten,
we use an electronic charging station like this
www.amazon.de/Voltcraft-202016-AKKULADES...oltcraft+ladestation
It treats each battery separately and deals with the whole uncharging/charging process to keep the batteries alive as long as possible. You can basically store your batteries in the device and it will do everything to please them
In the manual they recommend using the slow charging for longest life. You can enable power charge, though, which will pump up an AA in under an hour if needed.
Eneloop was a very good choice. Love them because they don't drain empty when not in use.

Thanks for sharing, OT!
Yes, such a 'smart loader' in use here too.... guess the manufacturers of these boxes do know best... but there'sa lot of 'myths' around batteries, incl. this weird 'fridge procedure' I once posted here:
www.fcp.co/forum/2-off-topic/22120-bring...e-fridge-trick#57685
(and it works! … for me…)
load slow, and kepp'em warm … seems to be the consensus...
Anyone else, additional advices?
