Pixelmator is on sale again for half off in the App Store this week. $14.99 USD. $30.00 normally.

Pixelmator is great at doing many photo editing tasks like adding/removing objects, changing colors, adding shapes and effects. I just scanned/restored about a 100 very old photographs of my wife's Grandmother's days homesteading in Idaho. Was able to repair many problems including recreating missing sections, fading, scratches, spots. Easy.

At $30 it is a bargain, @ $15; it is a no brainer.

Great program, great price, great developers. I haven't opened PS in a couple of years; it is not even on my current laptop computer.

Here is a Ripple Training 5 min tutorial on roundtripping to FCPX… www.rippletraining.com/free-videos/round...ing-with-pixelmator/

Steve shows saving as PS files to preserve layers, png also preserves layers/transparencies.

Other video and photography apps also on sale on the App Store.

Hope this helps, Greg

Pixelmator is a MUST on any Mac!!

Bought it years ago (wiki says, since 2007... perhaps?) since then all upgrades for free! Incredible! Rocksolid, and, what Greg mentioned before: transporting layers to Motion or FCPX to handle each layer indivudally etc etc ..

Has some 'marvel' tools (spot healing, auto selectors, color masking.. ) which helps to use graphics in videos, for example for creating those <<<#2.5D parallax effects' with photos...

…  Thanks for the hint to AppStore, Greg, another pearl: Screenflow.

Unfortunatly, my eyes start bleeding, trying to read this.... 5pt white font on signal-red .. smart layout! ....

I didn't like the interface, sometimes gets sluggish, no pen for selections (paths) very buggy, changed for Affinity Photo Beta.

Runs perfectly smooth on my system. Affinity Photo is a different animal, lots of higher end tools I don't need, but a great PS alternative. Now, Adobe can shove that rip off subscription plan of theirs.
