Adobe and Final Cut Pro X..a right mess!!! was created by MsJustine
I have been job searching locally here in South Africa and there is a huge mess in the job market, the mess has been created by Adobe and it's insane rental only model of obtaining the software.
Every editing job I have seen here in South Africa and on US and European websites all list the same type of editor, someone familiar with FCP 6/X as well as Premiere and blood After Effects.
The rental rate of $19.99 for 1 month of After Affects is simply way more than I can afford, so how does one get the job if you do not have AE experience?
I know my skills and what my limitations are, a liftetime of experience tells me that graphics is not one of them, I have tried and tried, to master something as simple as Motion 3, in the Final Cut Studio 2 days, and Blender, no dice, my brain is not wired to work in a 3D environment on a 2D screen.
I cannot tell you my stress levels when I see a job posting "VIDEO EDITOR", then I read the job specs, blood AE!!!
Am I cursed to never work as a video editor as I do not and cannot afford or have the brain to learn AE? Did I make a mistake in becoming a video editor? I spend every day perfecting my skills as an FCP X video editor, read every blog, watch every youtube.. It seems all for nothing??
How do I get to be of any use? Or is it too late??

Who pays is not the point, the point was, with the insanely expensive rental option I cannot learn AE, yet most if not all editing jobs say they require AE, so what do I do? Steal a copy??

Well then you have two options go with the trial or purchase a earlier version from eBay or co.
