Help! I would like to record images directly in FCP.Using Canon Hi8 [EX-1],
Formac Studio & FCP 7 & X. In FCPX I get an image [import>DV] but it won't
record. Does anyone have suggestions?

AFAIK FCP X would need a device with timecode in order to record directly. I don't think it can record live images from an external camera, although it can record from a built-in iSight or FaceTime camera.
You may be able to record using Quicktime Player, and import the recording ti FCP X.

It must be a Firewire camera with timecode to record live in FCPX. You may want to try recording with QuickTime X Player, as stated.
