Aerial Videography: Let's build a drone together (kind of)

Hi everybody,

I always find this forum very useful so I decided to start a thread about drones. Why?
They are becoming very popular and you can get amazing images with a kind of technology which is becoming cheaper every 6 months.

I started to working with a company that builds drones, in Italy, so I am gaining some know-how.

Let me be clear! I am not going to use this forum to sell stuff: I am not the chief executive officer of the company, I simply shoot videos and edit them and give directions about camera movements. Plus, I don't think we are able to sell drones and parts of them in America. If the administrators think that my topic is not useful to the forum, they, of course, can delete it in no time. I apologize for any inconvenient.
To show my respect, I am not going to give you the name of the company I work for. But I want to show you some videos we shot.

So... why this thread?
I want to know what do you think about this technology. Do you have any questions? Do you have a drone with you?
Do you need informations about prices? What kind of gear do you want to use with your drone? Can I help you somehow to clear your mind?

Are there other companies like the one I am working for? Can we use this forum to work together and find better solutions?

These are important informations for me. Since there are a lot of cameramen here, I want to know their point of view.

I can't always answer your questions because I am not a technician, but I'll ask the people that are working with me.

This is a video we shot in 2013. Back then (it seems a long time ago, already) we weren't able to use a good gimbal, now we can improve our stabilization. The name of the company is not present in this video. If I have a green light by the administrators, I can show you more videos.

I have been shooting aerial video for a long time now. have 4 rigs. Follow the legal developments very closely.

Seems like you're the fella' with the answers, once I get my hands on my first drone

Practice, practice, practice before flying it around people and stuff.

Also, FAA just released new rules finally. We are VERY restricted.
