Aerial Videography: The Gear and the Law
"Originally aerial videography and photography was quite expensive, required a lot of flight training, and was the domain of very few specialists using high end equipment. Back then, the FAA here in the United States didn’t pay much attention to commercial drones for media production.
Today technology has evolved enough that most videographers and photographers can get in the air relatively inexpensively and easily. But there are legal issues now that didn’t exist before. This article addresses some of these issues."

And so beer to ice fishers is too dangerous, according to the FAA. Really?

No, FAA rulings have to be done in 2015. The author is assuming that the actual regulations won't be set in stone until 2017. I think there will be too much pressure by industry for that. The FAA is already under pressure to keep up with reality. As long as you only charge for "editing", and follow RC aircraft regulations, you can do whatever the hell you want to, right now. And there are TONS of us doing that.

I have to agree with you in this case simply because people are flying them anyway in the US. Here the police would have no other choice but to just shoot them down! Things are very sensitive here.

Most of my flying is out in the country, miles away from everything or anyone. Lets me get lots of practice before going on a job site. Then on the job, I can get things done really quick and quietly.

In The Netherlands (Europe) is flying with a flying device under 25 kilograms and for recreation purposes, license free. Even filming or photographing with/from such a device is permit free.
