Just plain awesome!
For many reasons: I'll never forgot, when I was a little teenager in the 70ies, I saw Crystal Voyager ,I was 'fixed' onto surf-videos.
This one is crazy - aside the surfing, the nature, the waves… excellence in Photography AND a marvel in technology:
How the heck did they manage to place a cam over the waves that solid???
Some clips are attached to single surfers - awesome!
(yes, I know tracking…
)
Just beautiful!
… and me stupid do live in Munich/Bavaria - millions of miles away from the next shore ................... :blink:

Normally I'd say it was helicopter shots. But seeing some of the barreling from the wide angle lens, I'm tempted to say it was a GoPro on an RC quadcopter. There's a thread about these here. I fly them, myself, also.
Very pretty video, too.

… tempted too - but waves this high create enormous winds!
And you can attach a GoPro to some Huey too
If I remember correctly, I've seen copters with a sort of 'extension' - to bring the cam closer to subject (with SUCH an wide-angle, the cam has to be just a few meters over the surf!) … just great.-
On third watch:
focus the retiming effects and that "frame one guy" with a flying cam - :woohoo:
It really looks like done from a tower in the middle of the ocean!
… just awesome! … ok, that 'epic' music does a good job too ...

There are some more expensive rigs out that will fly in pretty decent winds, that's not an issue in this setting. It isn't a Phantom for sure, but it is one of the higher end, more professional units. Or they built a pro-copter rig themselves. The best ones I've seen, the most highest end pro rigs, are self built by very experienced pilots. They're high enough over the waves. I see GoPro all over this thing.
