Something iPhone owners here may enjoy.

I read about this free app called Cameo last week. Basically all you do is choose a template, and all the app does is apply filters and effects to your clips. The app also includes a few music tracks. The selection is limited, but they are really good tracks. Apparently you can use any copyrighted track on your phone too but I did not try it. You basically have extremely limited flexibility in your edit. But…

In exchange you can make cool online videos in under an hour! And this under an hour includes the shooting by the way.

This was my first test . I went on a family trip this past Saturday. I must have spent 10 minutes shooting, and maybe 2 hours editing yesterday morning. (Learning the ropes and testing the templates).

When I finished the quick edit, I gave the phone to my wife I could see her smiling for the entirety of the video. So this app gets a big thumbs up from me! I can see myself using this a lot for family videos. I feel bad quite often because I edit videos for different purposes but it has been ages since I edited something for my own family.
They say the best camera is the one you have on you; and I feel this is the perfect NLE to compliment the “best” camera.
