Pre- Production and Post-production Tools was created by Scrubelicious
In the middle of small production I wanted to share what tools we use and find what you guys use from Pre to the Post.
In this case I don't mean NLE, graphic, etc tools but more data and information.
For example we started to use
Evernote to share pre and production documents with the crew. We really like iCloud in combination with Pages and Numbers but allot Windows users don't have a iCloud account and the sharing can be a bit tricky. With Evernote the data is synced right away for all invited users.
Facebook / Twitter is a given. Not to big of a fan of these so called [strike]not so[/strike] social networks but sharing ideas an communicating in groups can't beat it since 95% people that I know are on this platforms.
Copra Only used for the last three days shooting on my last project but this time we are all way.
I like this little App. With Copra we can view the Dailies and pass comments and ideas on the footage over a iPad
Copy.com This is great for producing and postproduction. I was introduced with copy.com from some guys at RED and I was hooked and dropped my dropbox. Copy.com is sub go Barracuda Networks so I will assume they have own control of there servers. Anyways we create "company" for each project and assign users with there permission to each "company". And form there we move data from editing, to sound, to visual effects, to colouring. I did some testing where I uploaded audio for the sound guy and it seemed to go faster then dropbox. If you don't have it you can use this Referrals https://copy.com?r=yyLfen to get 5GB on of your 15GB.
What solution do you use. Still out looking for good Preproduction tool to share and edit data like Scripts, Storyboards and Ideas direct form one application. Evernote is good but I like something more traget to filmmakers.
The same with Facebook and co... but I don't think you can beat that one. Everybody is on it.
