Well which file format are you using Protune or .mp4?
GoPro offers the GoPro Studio application where you can transcode your files. But if you are only working with GoPro footage and just doing a edit. No need to leave GoPro Studio.

I copy the files to my hard drive, let FCPX trancode to ProRes. But then, I'm not using much of the metadata for anything, and the Lock & Load fisheye seems to work pretty well. I haven't tried the newest update to GoPro Studio. What are the advantages? Could be something I should look at? I know the previous version didn't do much for me.
