Don't know how to explain in one sentence...

I'm shooting once a week until november. Meaning we will experience both autumn and winter during filming. Most of the scenes will be shot indoor, but there will be scenes outside and outside, shooting from inside.

I want the viewers to get the feeling of time. That the movie starts late summer and ends early winter. And I don't know I will have enough scenes showing this. How can I insert clips showing this?

And as I write, I came up with some clips. I can shoot leafs falling, frost, naked trees, snowing(if there is snow when I'm at location.
But when do I insert these clips? When is it suitable?

By the way, how do I shoot a leaf falling? Patience? Any tricks?
