Both of these are great and a must watch if you haven't seen yet.
I find it really interesting that Walter Murch's wall of thumbnails is a lot like the FCPX event film strips, yet he doesn't like FCPX...

His wall of thumbnails is a storyboard. The film strip view in FCPX can't be re-arranged in this way, as Avid's can, it would be a nice feature.

I agree, that would be a nice feature. Please request it to Apple.
As it stands, you need to rename the clips to have them appear in new order.
But FCP (before X) used to be able to allow this option . The new media management in FCPX makes the browser structure & searching entirely different. However, if you devise a quick system in your workflow to rename the clips & set the thumbnails, this might give you the storyboard look you seek.

Thank you for the links. I did not know "cinematographer stiles".
A favorite of mine is: "Visions of light.the Art of Cinematography (1992)". The film is the equivalent of a walk through a cinema museum. The doc interviews many directors of photography. They discuss their craft and pay homage to the cinema pioneers and they Illustrate through examples their best work and the scenes from movies that Influenced them.

Visions of light - the Art of Cinematography sounds great, I'll look out for it. Thanks
That first one was actually called Cinematographer Styles, the youtube poster spelled it wrong.
