iPad as portable monitor

Recently I have been in situations where I had edit video while hotel hopping and wishing I had an extra monitor for editing. Since I carry my iPad with me I wished I could use it as an external monitor. I found something called "Air Display" in the App Store that allows me to use my iPad as a viewing monitor while connected to the same WiFi network as my MacBook Pro.

Anyway, it works great and the screen has very little delay. Just a thought I would like to share.

Yep, I've used it before. Not a lot of time, but when I did it is pretty neat.

Think about this. Apple TV, plug in to a hotel TV, use AirPlay to put your laptop screen on to a larger HDTV screen. I know a few folks who do that, too. Small, light, fits in luggage very easily. Not a second display, but a larger display that my negate needing a second display.

Also, carry a long HDMI cable in your luggage if you have a newer MBP. The HDMI out from it can go into the hotel's HDTV, too. Although some hotels have their TV controls locked out.

Yep! Another interesting thing about this is when the second screen on the iPad is connected it can touch control what is on that screen.
