Quite a few segments of this year's Oscar winner for Best Feature Documentary were shot on an iPhone recruiting a one dollar app.

If you haven't seen Searching For Sugar Man yet, do yourself a favor, it's outstanding!

I thought "Searching for Sugar Man" was a fantastic film, I loved it to bits. But IMO it never got even a fraction close to "The Imposter". I cant handle the green icon protests for VFX while this is being ignored.

Content is king, and "The Imposter" is content to the highest standard.

Oscars = 0 respect, a past history of zero importance.

Have to agree with all your points, Dave; content is indeed king, The Imposter was one of the most gripping dramas ever, all done without actors, phenomenal! But Sugar Man has a slightly more uplifting message, perhaps that's what the academy went with...?

Who knows? Much of the voting block are pretentious, & delusional, so don't expect the results to make sense or even follow logic. But I'm the guy who found Lincoln & ZeroDark30 to be dragged out, dreary exercises in tedium, while the esteemed academy were all falling over each other to laud them as masterpieces. Even Argo shouldn't have beat SilverLinings, but I gave up trying to rationalize any of it years ago.
