My full name is Øystein Haugen. It´s quit hard to pronounce outside Norway.

So, I have plans for the future. I want to make movies(not necessarily movies millions of people watch) and post them on internet.

I also like traveling, and it´s always a pain in the ass to tell everyone my name.

Therefor, I need a better name, and preferably a name that can be linked to my real name.

Do you have a suggestion or more?

Add my vote for Austen Haugen.

You can become the Haugen Daz of film - sweet!

But if you want to make it in Hollywood, it doesn't hurt to have a Stein in your name...

I like Austen Haugen.

Stein Augen... I have never liked "Stein" I don´t know why.

Why is it good to have a "Stein" in Hollywood.
I am ambitious, but Hollywood. I can´t possible think that I´m that good.

Thanks for the name suggestions!

There are quite some people in movie business that have a "-stein" in their name, like for example Harvey Weinstein.

I'm German and we had a guy from Iceland at the university, his name was Adalstein Arnarsson but we all called him Steini.

Austen Haugen is good, Stein Haugen is good but really, I personally would go for Stein Alive. It's a little funnier and you never know but that might make a difference. Anyway, I think your real name looks the most interesting when written.

Good luck!

Thank you for that, Overturf.
I like my real name, but given the pronunciation problem, I´m not sure I want to put my real name in a movie. Or maybe I should, and let the viewers decide my name.

Stein Alive is funny, but is it professional? Will I be taken seriously?

My first name is Austin, I vote for Austin, or Austen, how ever you want to spell it. I go my the nick name my mother gave me, so there were not two Austins in the house (I'm a Jr.), Ben (she says short for Bernard). But lots of people tell me I should start using Austin instead. I'm sticking with Ben, cause I never answer when addressed as Austin. But I think you could use Austin/Austen and it would be pretty cool.

BTW, what is behind the two spelling with i and e?

I need to give it some thought. I´ll probably try it on my first film. Have to see how it looks.

I don´t know what´s behind the i and e. But in Norway, you can spell my name, Øystein or Øistein. With y or i.
Pronunciation is the same. It´s just different ways of spelling it. Y is more common, so i is perhaps just to be a bit different. Or the parents just like the way it´s spelled :)
