Hello again.

I'm a home user :)

Caters me to those who work a lot with video editing, has a lot of film material, and has a good system - proposals or ideas for system backup, and what do you take care of atv raw / original files.

The challenge I see is where we are using memory cards, and therefor have an extreme need for storage capacity. Even that I am a somewhat active hobby photographer and editor I need to establish a good system - fast :)

I started with the memory cards for 2-3 years ago, but has a lot of mini-DV I like to take in into the FCPX system. So that demand allot of space. Whit min-DV it was simple, but I don't know what to do now.

Furthermore, what do I need to store for the feature - orginal media and the procect file, the rendering etc. How often do I like to se a project; is it ok to optimice al the clips again, and render the project once more.

Current solution:
- Working towards a Lacie Little Big Disk 1TB 7200 Tunderbolt as a scratch disk, set up with Raid 0 (ca. 150 read and write). Works ok, but I see that this is indeed insufficient space when I for instance has been on a weeklong ski trip / holiday and starts to put the movies and clips into short and longer projects. So here I see the needed for more space - and I notice the need for a faster hard drive.

- I use a Lacie 4TB 2BigQuadra eSATA / FW / USB 7200rp, set up with Raid 1 as backup disk now. This works ok, but the disk has a capacity of 2T in raid 1, but if I takes care of more than the original media (renderings, optimized and proxy) it's already to small.

Come with input. Price is a factor, but I want to discuss all possibilities. Have seen the G-RAID 4/68TB, and maybe this will work as a scratch disk (RAID 0). Then I will be able to fill in with much video, picture and other stof. OR should I have one spesific for video, for eks. the 4G. If I go for thr bigg one - how do you back up a 8GB disk, when it os set up whit 2 4GB in raid 0?
