Online Video Contests Pay Money

A few times in this thread we've talked about how our member filmmakers could submit a short film to a contest to win money. Who could forget our friend Simon Wood's excellent entry to the Rode Mic competition?

Perusing the Made With FCPX forum will reveal many contest entries by our members.

We've also seen some very clever finalists to these contests, so it appears that the unique rules & formats prompt the creatives to manifest their genius in fascinating & challenging new ways.

With hefty prizes awarded, a contest win just might be the cash influx your gear hungry productions desire.

With that in mind, I post this site I found the other day - they appear to scour the web for online video contests - listing the links, rules & prizes.

Right now Star Wars & Pringles are running a $25,000 first prize contest for a 30 or 60 second spot. Sweet to win, there's that new camera you've been drooling over. The site lists many others currently running.

Perhaps if a particularly interesting contest option arises, this thread can be updated for our readers.

Hopefully, someone here wins at least one.

Just noticed there is a competition running there called MicroFlicks Global Film Challenge - it looks interesting. I might see if I can quickly re-edit a piece and submit it to that - 9 days to go!
