All of Red's prices have dropped. The ONE is only &4k while they last. At the new prices, why would you buy anything else?

I find it interesting that the new Sony 4k camera's release and price announcement has been moved back, too. Coincidence? Seriously, at those prices, everyone else needs to re-think how much they charge for cameras. I mean, right?

Indeed this is a perfect example of American technology fighting back against the Japanese dominance in this sector. I particularly enjoyed how RED explained how their costs dropped, so they passed the savings on to their clients. Many companies would just pocket the extra profits silently. This move garners a lot of respect. The announcement will probably throw a real wrench into the gears of the global camera scene.
Had to learn on the RED site what Battle Tested meant (refurbished), but once you outfit the camera with all the things you need to operate, you're still looking at a lot of money. Do the sensors on these cameras still have the rolling shutter issue as with other digitals? Or is this not CMOS?
I was unable to get your png to load Ben, tried Camino & iCab, I got angry with Safari's inability to block cookies & trashed it (wasn't easy) but now it won't let me reinstall after a change of heart. Hmm... maybe Firefox can show your png...

Don't forget it is 4,000 for the Battle Tested versions.
Very likely they are the trade in for the Epic and Rentals, that are still laying around.
Don#t think this has nothing todo with any pricing from the competition... if you want to call that. Remembering at the NAB the only competition are from Germany. We know who that is right?
Still worth the buy!
I might consider a couple.

I always use FireFox, I'm not impressed with Safari. But wow, they're just PNG files. Safari won't see them. Wow. All the other browsers I'm testing now see them. Even Safari on my iPhone sees them. Wow, that's not good for Safari. I'll have to make a note of that. Thanks for letting me know, Trix.
Between FCP X and Red, you would hope the industry would follow the lower priced, more efficient design. But, well...

Ok, just to clarify, I haven't tried your page with Safari. I threw Safari away (trashed the latest version as it infuriated me for accepting cookies when I had that clicked to reject them, also the great Activity window which I used frequently, is now discontinued in the latest version of Safari. So I wanted to go back to the previous version, the OS won't let me.)
However, I've tried your page in Firefox now too, & it won't load the png file when I click it. It's giving me a domain not found message, same as I get in all my 3 browsers now tested. It's probably not a browser issue, but rather something to do with my ISP, because it redirects me to their "assist" page to clarify what I was looking for. First time I've ever seen this...
very weird
