Which brave souls on this forum are going to be the crash test dummies on this?

It will be interesting to see what (if anything) gets broken by the update. I have a number of plug ins and the likes that I rely on a lot these days (and they seem to be sensitive to change).

I'm not going to be an early adopter as I have a couple of projects on the go; I will wait a few weeks and see...

As a trainer and consultant, I pretty much have to dive in the minute it's available. But I've had close to 30 years as an IT engineer beta testing and being first to use, I'm used to it.

NEVER UPDATE/UPGRADE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PROJECT! NEVER, EVER!

Be sure all of your work is finished, delivered to your clients, and backed up first!

Well you can forget about any 32bit apps working. ML strictly 64 bit. Lots of good Macs and mac hardware like wifi cards, GPUs etc... will not work or not fully support ML features.
Roaring Apps keeps a pretty good wiki going for compatibility going here... roaringapps.com/apps:table
I will be downloading and upgrading after making clone of current system for rMBP. Not sure about my MP as it is a ML orphan now, I can hack around issues, so I might at some point.
Early adopters always feel the pain.
Last chance Lion? Maybe not, Apple still needs to support older computers, but likes to push latest OS. We'll see if available in Store in A.M.

Actually ML will in fact run 32-bit apps quite well. See my post here that explains it.

Yep, BenB is right.
ML can run 32bit programs.
Some programs will have to be updated.
the Roaring Apps website is listing lots of 32bit apps as ML ready.
Sorry for the wrong info, me bad.
Programs that rely on 32bit kernel will not run on ML, at least w/o hack.

I'm running ML right now. It creates a folder called "Incompatable Apps" or someothing like that. Put some AV foundation extensions in there, plus Snapz Pro X, and warned me about it. Everything is running fine. Only problem so far is that FireFox 14.0.1 displays some pages such as Facebook and Yahoo as garbage. But when I open them in Safari, I have to say that is a super sharp, super clear screen!

Before you upgrade, Software Update, and App Store for updates, then run Disk Utility and then Disk Warrior.

There are several apps that get updated right away in ML: iMovie, iPhoto, Aperture, etc.

Also, when you run Software Update from the Apple menu, it launches the App Store now. So only one place to do stuff. Nice.

I'm banging away at it now and will post on my blog about it tonight.

FYI, mine was about a 45 minute download, about a 30 minute installation process after that.

Run Disk Utility after the install and do a hard reboot!

Looks like Apple removed Lion from AppStore.
Interesting!
