Export 4 Track Audio in FL+FR+FC+BC format for Spatial Audio?

I'm working with 360 video files from the Ricoh Theta V that have 4 track spatial audio. (4 individual mono tracks).

Currently, I'm exporting the video track and the four individual channels separately, I then use Audacity to create a multichannel AIFF audio file from the four mono tracks and then recombine the video track along with the multichannel audio track to create a .MOV file with 4 audio tracks.

Is there anyway to export a movie using a Compressor Setting that will have the four track audio in the correct Channel Specifier-order?

It seems Compressor doesn't have a setting for the FL+FR+FC+BC--- I got the export to work (a mov file with 4 audio tracks), but the channel order seems to be scrambled.?

Thanks in advance for any ideas as it would save a lot of time.

did you use the roles for this ? I think that if you apply 1FL to the first channel-2FR to the second -3FC ...-4BC ... channels will be exported to the correct order in a quick time multichannel file.

Thanks, but still no dice unless I'm doing something wrong as I was under impression roles were just "names".

Final Cut Pro X imports the file correctly and shows the 4 channels in order. I want to be able to export the .MOV in the same format as when it was imported.

I don't know why the translation is getting lost (hence my work around to export each track individually and using Audacity.)

Compressor can see that a ready to go(ready for YouTube) movie clip with the spatial audio track has 4 discrete channels. My goal is to be export an edited movie from Final Cut Pro X with the same properties and trying to create such a preset.

Screenshot of compressor viewing a processed file from the Ricoh Theta V camera:

Roles are not names but tracks. If you don't specify which channel of your media, goes on which track, when you export your file from FCPX, you have all this channel on the same track.

When you've apply roles to your channel (best way to do is to apply on the sources before editing), you can export a Video+Audio file with the option Role as ... Multitrack.

Thanks again, but still no dice. I tried exporting - sharing a Master File> Quicktime Multi-track file> but the resulting exported MOV file doesn't even show there is a 4 channel audio track in file properties.

I tried exporting using your suggestion above. (i also tweaked h.264 or ProRes which allows either AAC or PCM) but still no joy.

Here is a screenshot of before export:

I hope Apple adds a some easier presets for exporting a MOV that has the 4 channels, but right now, I'm stumped.

Sorry for the wrong message previously. I got too excited thinking Apple had updated compressor to properly export a 4 track Ambisonic track directly. It can render 360 file with 4 tracks, but the channel specifier is for a surround track and not spatial audio.

So I am continuing to export a video track and the 4 audio tracks separately. I then use Audacity to create a 4 channel AIFF file. Combine the video with the new AIFF file and then run the Google Metadata Injector tool.

I've submitted a request previously and crossing fingers.
