I am trying to export a large file to a dvd it about 1hr and 50 min long I can share it to a master file fine and fast and then trying to compressor to burn and it always has trouble with dvd not responding. Also compressor seems to be making the video 3 hrs long.

Have you tried simply sharing to DVD from FCPX?

I recently had some issues burning a disk image,
when it got to the create disk portion it always froze.

Then I tried burning a disk image right after a computer restart and it worked successfully.

You also might want to check and make sure there are no illegal characters in the title, disk name, or chapter names.
