Anyone got a solution for 4K MP4 export? was created by audionstudio
Bought a stupid 4K TV as long as a player, which only supports mp4 format. And there seems no way to exceed 30Mbps in Compressor while dealing with 4K videos. I've also tried QuickTime 7 and MPEG Streamclip, neither of which worked. Has anyone got a solution for 4K mp4 exporting?

Are you editing in FCP X on a 4K timeline?
Then:
1) export a master file, and in settings choose "Video and Audio", and in "Video Codec:", choose H264.
2) Open the resulting mov file with MPEG Streamclip. Choose File->Save as... and in the dialog switch from "MOV" to "MP4". This will effectively rewrap the file in an mp4 container (without any reencoding), and it will be nearly instantaneous.

It is possible to do a high bit rate H.264 MP4 by using a QuickTime Export Component setting but it is a very slow process. For Encoder, select MPEG-4. Press the Configure button and in the dialog choose MP4 for Format and H.264 for codec. There is a bit ate field to enter the desired value.
All in all I think the MPEG Streamclip solution is preferable.
