Batch Stuck

One one of my two Macs, Compressor is "stuck." In the active batch page, it lists one job and describes it as "canceling." No indication of elapsed time, no way to delete the job. In the mean time, this means other batch jobs have to wait. Forever.

I've tried a couple of things to no avail: a) repairing disk permissions, b) removing the Qmaster folder from within the Application Support folder, c) deleting Compressor and reinstalling, d) deleting Compressor preferences, e.g. plist.

Any suggestions most welcome

Tom

P.S. - the gear: 2011 17" Macbook Pro, OSX 10.9.2, Compressor 4.1.1

Funny I was searching the Forum for this problem before posting it... I just had the same problem.

Finally got lucky.

Went back into the Library/Application Support folder, deleted the folder "Compressor."

Of course, this wiped out all my presets, but the "job that wouldn't go away" went away.

I can't see the compressor folder on my mac... is this a hidden folder?

@tpf1952, I tried something else before going to the folder and it worked for me. I went to the compressor preferences and clicked on Advanced. Right at the bottom left you can find a "Reset queue" button. See below...

I ended up choosing both because I didn't see anything happening when I first clicked on "Cancel jobs". But after less than a minute the processes I posted on my last post were gone!

Did you try this at all?

"Reset Cue" did not work for me. Erasing the Compressor folder, which is hidden in "Application Support" did.

It's all a mystery -- to me. Glad you were able to get your system working.

It looks like I was wrong. The processes were not showing anymore until I tried to render another project and be presented with a Compressor message about installation being wrong and that I should restart my computer. I did and guess what, they showed up again on the list :/

How do I find Compressor's folder on finder? BTW I already went through the whole:

" defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES" on Terminal...

Still not able to view hidden folders.

Thanks,
- VA

Is the Hidden folder you are talking about the Library folder? If so make the finder active. Click on the Go menu. Now hold the option key down. The Library folder will be shown as a menu choice letting you select it.

Inside the Library folder is the Application Support folder and inside that folder is the Compressor folder. Perhaps what you are looking for is there.

You do not need the defaults write command for this issue.

Thanks everyone! Deleting the folder worked for me. Too bad I lost the processes I had already trimmed...

But nothing better than being able to use compressor again...

There's a folder in there called V4 and within it a History folder. All the batches are listed in that folder and you can delete selectively .
