I though they made compressor 64 bit? is that why it runs slow? I have a 1hr20min video in my timeline(PRO-RES HQ) in FCPX sent to compressor and its converting to blurry h264. says its going to take 4+ hrs do you think 2 pass is not necessary that would save some time.

Nope still 32-bit, at the last Apple Cert I was attending we where talking about it and many believe it will be killed and move to the Share Monitor.

The user interface for compressor 4 is not 64 bit but the back end is. It even taps into the GPU power also.

The Share Monitor is half gone already. In Lion or later, right-click a QT file in the Finder, compressor shows up at the bottom of the menu. It'll be integrated into the OS eventually, it seems.

Yep, that seems to be Compressor built in to the OS.

A simple system service extension and an app like Compressor are two entirely different things. That'd be like saying Toast is being built into Preview because it's an option when you right-click a PDF.
