I just spontaneously found out I could bring my camera to this celebration. And instead of still images, I filmed - many of the people weren´t aware of the fact that I was filming, until later on.
So, my first video and my first song. I´m not overall impressed, but it´s a start.
I found it extremely difficult to make music to a specific film!

I liked it, for what it is. The fun & games translated well. Perhaps party games are enjoyed somewhat less in North America, but I think they're a marvelous way to break the ice. A couple of yours I hadn't seen before. The tissue paper wasting game is sure to be a favorite with Al Gore.
Nice focus, DOF, & crushed blacks, the lighting works well for me, as does your playfully appropriate music. In some of your other films we spent too much time in the introduction. I think you've considerably improved that issue here. However, it would have been a bit more complete with an ending which gave us a greater sense of closure, or final wrap-up to the story.
Perhaps a couple seated, seen from the back, she leans her head on his shoulder as we fade to black. Or the same idea while walking away. No party lasts forever, ease us out of it.
Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much for such kind words!
I think the party games are somewhat standard in some celebrations - and this was such kind.
As for the ending... my battery died. And I left my backup at home. I was thinking of driving home(I don´t drink), but I was afraid it could take to much time, so the ending was the best I could do.
But thanks again! All your nice words was surprising. Didn´t think I that that good.
However, my feet stays on the ground!
And the chocolate milk testing, we were talking about. It was just for fun, but I want to to it better, so I´m thinking of a better way to do it.

Well Neguah, here's why this party scene is more appealing than say, chocolate milk testing. It's all real. No scripted jokes, no acting, staging or pretense. Just look at the phenomenal success of reality television. All the wonderful complexities of human interaction, alive, unfolding right in front of us. If you can pull a story out that kind of footage, it'll move people.

I liked it! And even better was when I eventually realized that this was the Norwegians - Jan Teigen's a national treasure...
I believe the length could have been shorter, alternatively a more exciting music. I think it was a little monotonous, but it's a personal opinion.
Otherwise, it's exciting to see the indoor shooting with an SLR. Currently, I use a video camera, and I am unsure if I should upgrade to a new SLR as well.
In norwegian: Hvor er dette filmet, hvilken by?

I´m really fond of human reactions, and their spontaneous movements. I don´t have to tell them what to do. The tricky part is to get the camera up and running and in focus as soon as possible. And when you are filming with f/1.4(I love the bokeh) it´s hard.
Yes, I´m trying to create a story, but I´m not so good yet, so that´s a challenge.
My batteries and memory card is now always with me!
Thanks for your feedback klausre!
Not to be picky, but I´m using a DSLR
I have filmed with a video camera at work, but the small sensors that come with handy cams, and video cameras does not meet my demands. I need to be able to shoot with high ISO, DOF and MF(manual focus). I also like taking still images. And of course, sharp footages and several lenses to choose between is important.
Of course, I don´t want the film to be boring, so length matters. But I don´t believe there´s a rule of length. It´s all about making the footages interesting as long as it shows, and of course both music and footages itself are crucial.
And yes, the music is somewhat monotonous. I started making music 1 month ago, and this is my first whole song. I need to learn. But that was the best I could do. Hoping to to a lot better next time.
It´s in Tromsø, Elisabethsenteret
