hi there!

this is my very first try to make a video.
normally i am a journalist and photographer. but i made a photo love story for a german teenage magazine about a boy who writes a song for a girl. when i found the boy and heard his song that really existed, i spontaneously said "hey, let's make a video additionally! ;-)" - so we tried it - and had no idea of how to... LOL...

i tried out the video function on my nikon d3s for the very first time, bought final cut pro x and some plugins - and then i gave it a try... ;-) this was so much fun and editing is so exciting - though i have no clue about it yet. i just followed my feelings and tried learning by doing as i had no time. i hope you do not find it unprofessional - ooops...

now i would love to make much more videos and learn, learn, learn about filming and editing - - - this whole field makes addicted! there are so many possibilities, this is so cool!

our video got about 3000 youtube clicks in 2 days, but i do not know if this is little or much - i only know that unfocuses pimple videos have millions of clicks, so i guess we won't hit the sky with our first try... but i will keep filming and editing and hope i will learn a lot from you all! ;-)

<3 many greetings from germany, dany ;-)

p.s.: i also made a making of about the production of the photo love story, you can find it here:

Over 3000 hits in 2 days is nearly viral, so you're off to a very good start. I expect those numbers will continue to climb as your product is very marketable, trendy & current. It would be my guess that probably 75-90% of your viewers are girls in the demographic depicted, which is ideal as they're about the only sector keeping the music industry afloat. Not sure if your boy is signed yet, but I expect he will be. He definitely needs some professional production behind the music side, which is evident in this song. There are some pitch problems in the verses, though the chorus hook develops nicely & becomes catchy. On the video side, your work is very impressive for a first time out. Basically your video's strongest points are that it's got a very youthful pop feel, perfect coloring, bright & cheery, the song & video are non threatening to teen & tween girls, lots of style, fashion, hair, jewelry, etc. For me the black & white strobe is a bit annoying, seems like you just started throwing every effect you could find into the mix. Some of the pink effect works well, around 3.10 she looks her best, but other similar shots we see way too much makeup which is less flattering, though part of your success could be that he's prettier than her. Wise decision to do the song in English for broader appeal, you can probably crack more of the European & possibly North American market if this thing really takes off. This fits well with the current Justin Bieber trend, & even goes slightly further in that vein as he is now going the other way with his tattoos & bad boy antics. Your fellow, Prince Damien under proper management could take over the vacuum that Bieber leaves as he begins to self destruct. Right now, Damien's very clean bright image, slightly effeminate & hinting towards homoerotic ambiguity directly targets the teen sector. I could easily see this thing blowing up big. You may have a monster on your hands.

wow, TrixTrax9000, thanks so much for your wonderful words ;-))) i 'm happy now ;-) i really feel encouraged to go on with making videos ;-) the first haters vote the video down and write things like he looks strange with his eyebrow or he sounds unmanly but i guess this is normal to happen. there's always people who make something down. i am very curious how everything will develop - wish us luck. prince damien is not signed, he wrote the music and the lyrics and recorded it himself at home - like i did with the video, it's all kinda "home made" - but we tried not to make it look like that ;-)
thank you very much for taking the time to watch the video and to write all this. you are awesome! many thanks and lots of greetings from germany! ;-)

Keep up the positivity, Dany. That's another great aspect of your video. Always remember, anything of value will always attract negativity, just press on despite the haters. Don't worry about what little boys say, you're marketing your act to girls. However, without management or proper direction behind him yet, you're going to have a lot of work to do. My recommendation is to piggyback on Bieber's celebrity, Damian attracts the exact same audience. Ironically the hater's statement that he sounds like a girl, is the exact same thing they say about Justin, who BTW is still the biggest act on the planet. Damian needs to be taking vocal lessons or at least practicing with vocal lesson CD's (available online), develop his voice because it needs work, at the moment he's mostly a cute face. Remember, Justin is pitch perfect, plus talented on multiple musical instruments (drums, piano, guitar, etc).

But, as I outlined, Justin's diverting off his squeaky clean path, which means parents will no longer continue to endorse him for their little ones. If Damian is smart he can seize that niche market, but you only have a year or two window of opportunity, so get to work now.

Get whatever followers he's got to hit all social media hard, drive up your hits. I tweeted this thread with "The Next Justin Bieber? This kid shows promise! Video viral?" along with the hash tags #JustinBieber #Bieber #Bielebers #musicvideo #pop #teen, & within a couple of minutes our hits on this thread doubled. Assemble your team & do likewise to your YouTube page. Then you've got to build the momentum, release tracks, contact/press release to local media where you are, live shows, etc. Create hype, build the brand, get him signed & a big machine backing him. You should probably watch the Bieber movie Never Say Never, where you'll learn how this kid bucked the system almost entirely by utilizing Youtube & Twitter. Another good movie on the subject is The Idolmaker . It's a different era, but the principles don't change.

Now, granted I'm across the sea & only going by what I observe in your video, I don't know how serious or dependable your lad is. Those are things you have to determine before devoting more time, energy & money. Like I said, if he's smart, he's got a good shot.
