Video I produced for Freegun clothing’s BMX athlete Terry Adams. Edited in FCPX.
Video description from youtube:
For Terry Adams' latest Freegun BMX video, he hit the streets of New Orleans to throw down a few new flatland combos in some iconic locations around the city. From his one of his favorite spots in City Park, to the base of the Greater New Orleans Bridge, to the middle of Canal St., Terry gets it done! Mix in the amazing camera work and editing skills from fellow South Rider Mickey Gaidos, and you are left with one hell of an edit... Welcome to Freegun 2013!

Very slick & professional. You've blended the diverse footage well, it's a great mix. The speed ramping raises our insight into his stellar stunts, & the music is perfect. Nice blend of nature shots, light & set changes.
Great job.
(Speaking of professional, there's a tiny typo in your description's second sentence with one extra "his")

A few shots went a tad too long for me, but as usual, very interesting video, well done!
The dolly shot at 42 seconds, how did you do that?
Some of the GoPro shots, do you just set up the GoPro and let if film for awhile and see what you get? Or do you visualize the shots first, then set up the GoPro for them specifically?
Great shots of New Orleans downtown. Reminds me of some of the shots I was getting in the late 90s, when my last few IT jobs were in those buildings, and I lived for half a year in the Sheraton. But back then, I was shooting SD on Mini-DV tape, with a $300 camera. Didn't look quite as good. LOL!!!!
Here's an idea for you. I once did a 24 hour city time lapse from the roof of the Sheraton. I had to do a lot of work to get permission to set a camera up there. And bungee cords so it wouldn't blow away. Ha! I bet you could get a good one this spring when the weather is more stable.
Bring this one to the March users group meeting, buddy!

Hey guys thanks for the great feedback!
TrixTrax, yeah I noticed the typo and I mentioned it to them. I just sent the file over and they uploaded it to their youtube page and did the description.
Yeah I know what you mean but you have to realize with the BMX edits I put out I try and appeal to basically two different markets/viewers.
Basically I try and make it appealing and visually interesting to the average viewer that isn’t into BMX and has no idea what they are looking at and also to the hardcore BMX riders/community. Terry’s style is with very long, drawn out combos but the BMX community loves watching his combos on video in their entirety and I’m already borderline cutting angles too much.
So its a fine line and I try and balance pacing out out as best I can but I appreciate the comment because I do not want to bore any viewers but I have to give the BMX community what they want as well if that makes sense.
Really good question! As for the GoPro shots I always monitor the shot before I hit record via the LCD backpack or on my iPhone so I do specifically setup an angle and then tell the subject where to be. (If a controlled environment and not an “action” shot obviously)
For this video I didn’t operate the GoPros on most shots as I was on the 5D or Blackmagic so once I set the angle I just let it roll until he pulled the combo.
Terry hates me sometimes because I make him do a combo over and over again lol
But I like to get as many angles as I can, which is sometimes difficult because I like to have movement in a lot of the angles so I have to operate on each angle (or get a 2nd operator but the budget doesn’t always allow for that)
I am always looking for good time-lapse setups to do. Either specifically for projects or just as stock. Lets talk about this particular setup further.
Again I’m glad you all enjoyed this video! We’ve been getting great feedback within the BMX industry but its refreshing to hear this feedback from someone more from the technical side. Thanks!!

Just a push-in/pull-back move on my Kessler Pocket dollie slider set up on a single tripod. The dolly shot at 42 seconds, how did you do that?
