It was a crazy-foggy day in Florida when we shot this wedding. It took a lot of effort and time to get some of the ceremony scenes to look right but the Nikon + FCPX combo pulled through pretty well considering what the content looked like coming out of the camera!

Check it out and let me know what you think please!

Thanks for sharing, Kyle. I'm pretty sure we had this video posted before, I remember watching it earlier. Though it's no secret I'm sap for wedding videos. At first, when seeing the over 9 minute span, I doubted you'd be able to hold interest for the duration. The fact that you did is a testament to the quality of your work. You've really captured the joy & emotion here. A few very strong points were the quality of the outdoor ceremony's audio, as well as the song selections & your artistic sensitivity in editing to them. Your camera movement also flowed perfectly & some of the focus work was gorgeous.

It might be helpful for others if you briefly listed what color & style treatments you used.

Only a few very slight negs for me; when we see the bridesmaid's feet, they're on the scrappiest bare patch of grass & dirt, there's a shot of the couple posing outside then a hand with camera comes into the frame. I'm hoping someone figures out a way to fix the horrible effect of camera flashes as they appear in video. Perhaps it's only in the youtube compression, but the square white half-frame blocks are really nasty during the dance scene. In film I've seen flashes look gorgeous, with ramped illumination & decay, best in slowmo with the old timey flashbulb sizzle sound effect. There's a shot near the end where you have them stand individually in front of what looks like a decorated Christmas tree. In that shot they both appear worse in the color corrected version, than they did in the untreated camera image. The skin tones are desaturated by the treatment, so they appear paler & less vibrant. As I tell everyone making wedding videos, please look into the glamor filters for skin smoothening, it's a subtle touch that ups the iconic romantic fantasy that a wedding encapsulates. A bride deserves this special touch in a video she will treasure for a lifetime.

It's a beautiful piece you've shared, thank you.
