The main Feature Piece in this short presentation was made entirely with FCPX
It is graded with the "bruce" grade from magic bullets mojo kit, and other general tomfoolery, but nothing to major :)

Filmed at Hardcore Breakdowns Birthday Bash in Brighton UK earlier this year .

Thanks for the share, Scott.
Interesting short piece you’ve presented, once again reiterating the well known global fact that Brits have the best sense of humour. (yes that’s how they spell it) From the DJ’s clowning to your unassuming “Me?,” it all sets the stage for the perfect contrast to what you’re calling “hardcore.” (We used to call it raves)

Some of my favorite things in this piece are your bumpers fore & aft, the effects around the titles, etc. The cut glass facets one probably the least of the lot, but the squiggly ribbon at 1.34 is great, & the laser collision to Feel The Rush at 2.30 - stellar. These look like AfterEffects & not FCPX or Motion, but I still like them. Your use of sound effects is excellent; the explosions on your bumpers, the slowdown calm before the storm, & the subtle yet super reload after he blows his load. You’ve really captured the energy of the rave, showing the crowd experience is what makes this work. Probably my favorite shot is the XRay effect where we see the crowd thru the MC’s body from the stage

On first viewing, I felt the slowdown section went on a bit too long, or was it too slow?, while its following montage seemed a bit too fast (by only about 10%), on second viewing, I got the rapid slideshow more, but I think the slow down DJ prep sequence is still a tiny bit slow. Perhaps a better way to describe this is… the mind is tempted to tune out or lose interest here. It’s only a slight negative, but it’s there nonetheless. This lack of engagement is accentuated by the color (colour for Brits) grade, which is almost a sepia tone nearly gray scale. Less color is less information during a scene that is already beginning to lose my attention, making this section begin to drag a bit.

Just an idea…. since I’ve today acquired a new free effect from one of our generous members, it’s brand new baby fresh from that magical place where effects are created.

He calls it Acid Trip - & it applies a cycling rainbow thru things.

What I would absolutely love, is to see the rainbow cycle starting very subtly in your DJ’s spinning record, move thru his mixing board up into his body, increase in luminescence, even as things slow down he glows brighter, building up his charge like a capacitor on a flash camera, then BOOM! he unleashes it on the crowd. Now that I think about it, I wouldn’t mind a bit of subtle color rippling thru that crowd from time to time. This will elevate the emotional connection.

Yeah, it’s a bit more work, but a powerful addition of value for this genre...

Thanks alot for taking the time to watch the piece and for your great feed back and advice! :)

yeah the titles are AE , It is the 'Firepower' performance section that i cut with FCPX

I can also see your point with the slowmo section , and your advice has been taken on board for future work!

lol! , We still call them raves :P
just different genres , hardcore - drum n bass - techno

Also thanks for the link to the acid effect ... this may come in handy ;)

All the best

Scott
