WD My Book Thunderbolt Duo - 4 & 6 TB RAIDS

The My Book Thunderbolt Duo is available now at select U.S. retailers and online at www.wdstore.com starting at $599.99 USD MSRP (4 TB) and $699.99 (6 TB).

Considering the LaCie 2TB T'bolt is $579.99, this is very welcome news from WD. Twice the storage for half the price from a more reliable company.

B&H list them for $549.99 and $649.99 respectively. But there's no video editing standard RAID 5, only levels 0, 1, and JBOD, but still, a level 1 would be just fine with me, although I'd prefer a level 5 or 6 RAID.

I spent almost 2 weeks editing on a new 17" MBP maxed RAM, SSD OS drive, and a 2TB LaCie T'bolt drive with FCP X 10.0.2 and it was rock solid, mega fast, smooth, the most powerful video editing machine I've ever worked with.

I would try the WD drives for personal use, for biz we are rolling at the moment with Promise.
But LaCie has become unPopular at work and home.
Will take a look.
