Hey!
We'd like to thank all the members for helping us with the feedback during our design process for the first Final Cut Pro X backlit keyboard
Editors Keys improve workflow for video editors with first backlit Final Cut Pro X keyboard.
Video editors of all shapes and sizes can now work significantly faster with the release of Editors Keys’ first ever backlit Final Cut Pro X Keyboard.
It’s well known that editors normally work in dimly lit studios, so with the advanced three level lighting system that the backlit keyboard provides, this common nuisance can be resolved. Having listened to the opinions and needs of editors worldwide, Editors Keys developed a whole new keyboard dedicated to Mac. This new keyboard features vibrant artwork for Final Cut Pro X as well as all of the main OSX system shortcuts.
Each button on the keyboard is fully backlit and correlates to a vital editing function that would otherwise involve clicking through various menus. Users can make super fast edits, take full control of their video timeline and now have the advantage of being able to see clearer, whilst editing in a darker working environment.
The keyboard assists Final Cut Pro users around the world, easing eyestrain and offering over 80 shortcuts for to work with in their workflow.
Studies have shown people can work up to 30% faster by using keyboard shortcuts, and even 50% faster if they are advanced users.*
The keyboard which retails at £99.99 can be purchased from today at www.editorskeys.com .

These look great. Count me in. Can one reduce the backlight via an app or keyboard access if desired, or are they fixed backlit all the time?

I pulled the trigger on an FCPX specific backlit keyboard. Overall I'm pleased with it. The travel is different than the Apple aluminum keyboards and took a day or two adjustment. The plastic build is also a slight disappointment after years with the sturdy aluminum boards. The very effective backlight makes up for these particular qualms.
One issue that's most definitely a nuisance: after shutting down my system the keyboard defaults to a 100% full backlit state, whether I've had it off or any "on state" during operation.
Can you advise on how to change this?
