FCP 7 Rendering Problem with twixtor plugin

Hello all,

I recently started using twixtor to slow mo some of my shots. After rendering quality is fine. But most annoying part is FCP is loosing render on all clips that were pre rendered with twixtor,

1.) When I close and re open.
2.) Switch footage to high res from my proxy footage.
3.) Or move my clips a little bit in time line.

Why is my FCP loosing render with this plug in?

2.) Because the render is based on which physical clips you are using. Proxies render as proxies, full rez renders at full rez. They're not the same, they're not interchangeable.

3.) Because you're changing what has to be played back. If you move a clip, the rendered playback file for that section of the timeline is now different from what is in the timeline.

Think of render files like audio "bouncing" in audio work. I'm in Logic, I have a song with 23 tracks. I "bounce" it down, to a 2 track stereo file, to playback and share. But if I take one of my tracks in my Logic project, and move a region (clip) just half a bar over, it no longer matches the "bounced down" version.

Well, that is similar to render files. They are timed with the Timeline, not the individual clips. Shift a clip a few frames, and the timeline render file for that segment of the Timeline is now out of sync and incorrect. A new one must be generated. Rendering simply makes a temporary playback file that has only one video track, and two audio tracks (or 6 for surround sound), for the whole timeline, not for individual clips, in a matter of speaking.

As for Twixtor, there must be something about how the plugin is written that prevents FCP7 from holding on to render files. I'm just guessing there.

Thanks so much Mr. Ben. I understand now how rendering works.

Thanks for your time.
