7toX Simple Slideshow, Big Problems

I am trying to take a simple slideshow created in FCP 7.0.3 and use FCPX 10.1.1 to add dissolves and a filter (Easy Ken Burns from FCPEffects). I followed the directions in the guide but I am encountering some huge problems. We got an XML exported into FCPX, no problem. But none of the Motion Tab settings, vignetting etc seemed to come across (after multiple attempts). Ok, not a huge deal. The bigger deal is that on export from FCPX none of the transitions (simple cross dissolves) look right—they dip to black and flash a frame of green on many. Tried quitting and restarting FCPX, then another huge problem cropped up: the compound clip created by 7toX was GONE. Not in the Sequence keyword collection and not in the Event browser. I tried this multiple times and every time FCPX quits the compound clip disappears on restart. I tried copying the Event into another Library and guess what—the compound clip does not show up there after the copy. I tried using some of the slides to create a quick compound clip in another Library, quit, restart and the clip is still there. The problem seems to be with compound clips made with 7toX.

All images are .JPG or .PNG. I have tried new libraries, different admin User account... to no avail.

There are always issues going from 7 to fcpx. For these issues I would contact help within the 7 to x app. They will get back to you quickly.

It had another bug update on the App Store today. But no, not everything translates over. If you do bring something over with 7toX, I highly recommend afterwards, create a new Library, new Event, new Project. Copy the clips to the new Event. Then in the converted project, Select All, Copy, go to the new Project, Paste. Then close (even trash) the original Library. I seems to clear some bugs up for me on occasion.

I am in touch with the developers. Seems it may be bug(s) related to the custom frame size (1024x768).

Good idea about copy pasting the contents of the compound clip to another project- didn't think of that! The event was today so the project was completed in FCP7, but if I get some time next week I may experiment with the suggestions.
