after import to fcpx everything appears to be normal but my footage has become all freeze frames and the audio isn't showing up. footage is dvcpro hd 1280 by 720 at 23.98. I have some other footage that is a different codec 720 by 480 and 29.97 and that footage comes in fine. I'm at a loss. anyone have the same issue?

There is an issue with DVCPRO-HD clips encoded with legacy versions of FCP being used in X. I've had to use QT Pro or Compressor 4 to re-encode it.

oof. looks like a rebuild is in my future. I imported a bunch of this footage a while back. Since then i have upgraded the version of 7tox and it's no longer working.

Media Managing from this project from 7.0.3 is nearly impossible as well.

Ditto here. I transcoded the 720p P2 footage in compressor to ProRes with audio pass though then relinked in FCPX, then all was well.

Hi, can you elaborate on this for me please? Do you mean you re-encoded the video & the legacy or after you made the XML & imported into FCPX?

There is an issue with DVCPRO-HD files created in FCP 7 coming in to FCP X. I simply use Compressor to re-encode them as DVCPRO-HD again, goes quickly, I've not seen any quality loss, then FCP X reads them just fine.
