Hi I'm new to DSLR filming and have a D800 for photography but I also used to shoot and cut with a Sony XD Cam when I worked in TV. If I was working in news and got sent out of town we had a MBP with FCP7 on it and could cut a story, whip it through compressor and upload it on 3G. Average news story only goes for 90 secs max with no effects so it would only take an hour or so to upload..sometimes :S

Anyhoo I have FCPX, Motion and Compressor and the Nikon D800 shoots incredible vision to my very great surprise. I haven't done much filming with it yet but I have done quite a few time lapse sequences and was looking for suggestions for a very good noise filter because most of them are at night and quite a few are astro which needs it if I can't get out of town from high ISO noise. Any in built high ISO camera settings are know as star suckers as the simply make them vanish so they're useless. So far Pixel Film have my undivided attention, but I am I over looking something before I buy.

99% of photography plug-ins give you a FULL ACCESS 30 day trial to every feature available within the product. Am I missing that option back in the film industry? It sure as hell makes them sell their plug-ins like hot cakes. I do have trouble reading/concentrating (from a recent ailment) and I miss things .

I'd greatly appreciate any feedback and ProLens and ProDub look amazing to me but is there better?

Kindest

Paul

BTW this site rocks, why did I just find it now??????
