importing Canon 1D X files with canon plugin was created by setev55
Hi
I have just discovered this forum and this is my first post.
I have just taken delivery of a Canon 1D X. I have been shooting some video on it today and I am having problems importing it into Final Cut Pro 7.
I have been using the Canon E1 plug in for FCP with 5D mark IIs successfully for some time. When I first tried to log and transfer the files from the 1D X I couldn't see any content on the cards so I downloaded the latest version of the Canon E1 plug in.
I could then see the card contents and play them in the log and transfer window but if I then try to import them the file name appears in the finder window of the relevant Capture Scratch folder but after a few seconds it just disappears and nothing is imported.
It seems to be related to to be with the compression method. If I use "All-I" the footage wont import but if I use IPB it will. However All-I is supposed to be better quality and better for editing.
Any ideas anyone
thanks
Steve

Further to the last post I have now discovered this isn't related to the compression method after all - despite managing to import a single file at one point I now can't log and transfer any movie files whatever the format from the 1D X, although I have no trouble with files from a 5D mark II
I've tried it on both an iMac and a MacBook Pro with the same results
