We have covered many plugins for visual content, but not many for audio, so good to see that SmartSound has just released a Sonicfire Pro Plugin for FCPX. Is this the way to choose and licence music for your productions?

Slightly later in the week than normal and the victim of a false start (which has been fixed!) Steve and Mark set out to build their ultimate Final Cut Pro X system based on the new Mac Pro.

Whilst we have been busy tinkering around with the new Mac Pro, we have taken our eye off some of the new plugin products that have been issued this year. Let's get right up to date with three new plugins from the FxFactory stable.

Just as we were packing up for the day, we got permission to embed the FCPX demo reel from the recent FCPWORKS event that was held in Los Angeles over the weekend.

We have been teased with test renders and snippets of news about this plugin for a few weeks. It's been well worth the wait as mObject brings amazing 3d textured objects and text into Motion and then into Final Cut Pro X.

It's a great headline, but the facts are there to back it up. At a recent meeting at the Digital Cinema Society, Neil Smith from LumaForge gave us more information on that film...

Being back in the office after the Mac Pro's three week excursion on broadcast jobs means we can catch up with things. There's three great podcasts to listen to for a start!

At a quick glance, you might not think this 10.1 update to Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve colour grading application a big deal. Look again as the support of FCPX XML 10.1 means much more interoperability.

Less than a month after the huge feature packed 10.1 update, Apple has released Final Cut Pro 10.1.1. No new features, just bug fixes and stability improvements.

Following on from the success of SliceX, CoreMelt has released TrackX for FCPX. Now you can easily attach graphics, name supers or other objects to elements in background footage or replace computer or iPad screens.

No more testing in the office, we took the Mac Pro on the road for a real outside broadcast TV job. This was cutting on the front line. So just how did the Mac Pro perform? You will be in for a very short surprise.

After a lot of anticipation, Final Cut Pro X 10.1 has been released. New libraries, new FXPlug support, custom project frame sizes and many more improvements and performance tweaks.
