Batmanned – Free FCP X transition 22 Feb 2017 06:40 #86010

Download here: bretfx.com/product/batmanned
Just a fun, free FCP X transition plugin paying homage to a classic show! Your media spins around violently in the background while your logo flies forward and back in front of an icon of a bat. Adjust scale and position and color. Turn the bat and or logo on/off. Why waste any more time? Download it already and have fun! INSTRUCTIONS: Run the installer, agree to the license, and drag the file to the folder. In FCP X it will show up in the transitions under BretFX Batmanned. Drag it to the edit point between two clips. Adjust the length. Between 1 sec and 1 1/2 seconds seems to be best. To use your own logo click on the drop zone in the inspector, then click on your own logo in the browser and then click “apply” under the viewer window. Adjust the scale & position of your logo to taste in the inspector with the “Logo Scale” and “Logo Position” sliders. You can turn the logo off by unchecking the “Use Logo” checkbox. Click on the bat color to change it’s color and adjust the size with the “Bat size” slider. To turn the bat off entirely, uncheck the “Use Bat” checkbox. COMPATIBILITY Final Cut Pro X 10.3.1 (and later) Download here: bretfx.com/product/batmanned |

hmm, well <cough>, the 'free' DL demands an 'account' on your website, I should pass you my email… A demo in action, and some grabs of its settings/options would be nice - beforehand. … just my personal opinion… ! |

Alas you are right. And apparently my attempt to be cute in the description was a miss. I was in a goofy mood. Anyway the description has been updated along with the plugin! You now have a Bat and a Drop Zone for a logo that fly up and back together. Turn either on/off, tweak their scale & position and adjust the bat's color. So it's even more fun!

I finally got a little demo video put up! Hope it helps! It replaces the still graphic on the product page at bretfx.com/product/batmanned/
And I fixed a bug that snuck through on the last version. Apparently the "use logo" checkbox was stuck in the use logo mode whether it was checked or not. Fixed. If you previously downloaded, just log back into your account and redownload and replace. Thanks! |

Thanks! Glad you like it.
The installer, is just a custom DMG, created by a little inexpensive app called DMG canvas. I believe it's on the app store. Deyson Ortiz suggested that one to me. Although believe he's made the jump to true installers for all his products now. I plan to make the jump eventually but they are more costly and less intuitive from what I understand. |

Batmanned II - the update! 05 Aug 2017 21:08 #89722
|
Free FCPX transition BretFX Batmanned has been updated. The original transition has been left unchanged, but I've added a new Batmanned II transition alongside it. Batmanned II adds adjustable radial and zoom blur. The original TV transition in the 60s had a ton of motion blur on the spinning, but the logo that zooms in and out had no blur. So instead of using the built in motion blur across the board, I've added a slider for the radial (spinning) blur and another slider for the zoom (forward and back) blur. An added benefit is performance. There should be little or no need to render Batmanned II for full playback on a good CPU/GPU. I've also updated the installer with a developer certified package installer instead of the prior drag and drop installation method. No more need to create the transitions.localized folder if you didn't have it. So simple. Enjoy!
If you've already downloaded Batmanned, you can download it again, or alternatively log into your acct and choose downloads and re-downlod it from your downloads list. Download here bretfx.com/product/batmanned/ |
