TOPIC:

Will this MacBook Pro suffice to edit in FCP? 22 Sep 2015 01:24 #68798

www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-macbook-pro-1...246944&skuId=8532502

I'm a new user and will be using it to edit some DSLR video shot in 1080P.

I'm looking to edit quite a few clips to total maybe an hour or so of content.

Thanks!

In my personal opinion, I feel It'll handle HD video well, especially if you have a very fast USB 3 or Thunderbolt external drive to place your media and Libraries on. Bear in mind a laptop is not a desktop, and never will be. Depending on the complexity of your project, and the codec of the imported video files, you may need to optimize or use proxy media for some of that work. But that's a laptop thing, not specific to this model.

Is FCP.co faulty? I see the original post was from 2015, and the next reply from almost 3 years later...not sure the 2015 laptops are still being sold, maybe job lots and salvage yards...
